Starting car from under the hood
Hi,
I have a 1986 2.5L 190D non-turbo. With the ignition in the on position, does anyone know how I can start this car from under the hood? Thanks. |

Isn't this the same as your Won't Start thread? Asking the same questions?

tyl604, no it is not. Please re-read the thread.
oldsinner111, The reason I ask this is that the solenoid is not easily accessible on the 190D. Wondering if you know of somewhere more obtainable. Thanks. |

I have an SD and I do not know the 190D. So does your 190D not have the plastic terminal box on the right fenderwell? If it does, that is where you buzz up the starter solenoid.
Maybe Mercedes did not put one on the 190D. Someone who knows more than me can opine. PS - I just reread the thread. You were considering removing the starter. I was trying to suggest that you might try jumping it first from the fenderwell (if possible on a 190D). If the starter spun, then no need to remove it. Of course if MB did not put that plastic terminal box in your vehicle, you will have to find another way. |

You might find a violet single wire behind the right rear of the brake booster
