Roof carrier options for 300CD?

What are the options and general costs for a roof rack or carrier for a 300CD? Are rail mounts still available or is it all used stuff now?

I met a fellow that used this rack on his W123 sedan:

I cannot verify myself how it would fit on a coupe.

I've got this one for my W123 sedan and cannot think of reason why
they would not work on a coupe unless the rain gutter design is
different.

I have a 300CD, and while I haven't tried fitting racks I do know that the rain gutter is different.

On the sedan, the chrome trim is attached to the door and the rain gutter is simply welded onto the roof panel.

On the coupe, the chrome is mounted onto the rain gutter complicating aftermarket racks. In addition, the rubber moulding that the window seals to is worth more than its weight in gold. It's NLA and any old stock was more than a $1000 per side when I last looked.

How do you like it? I'm considering a pair for my sedan.

take your time installing.

make sure the rubber pieces to protect the trim are in place

seems very sturdy and capable once everything is tightened down.

seems noisy on the highway

got it for short kayak trips to the river.

YMMV
