Shell rotella - no supply - have a theory on why

Shells Rotella has Recently become rarier then those funky hens bearing teeth , void from all shelves seems like is the case .Im running with a theory that shipping is the breakdown and company Bean counters are in on the discussion of customers paying the shipping for the product .If every little product is micro shipped Then why have it on a shelf at all , just eliminate product at shelf access then see if you can have the public seek it out to pay for your product and shipping . Oil is a heavy product to have boxed , unboxed , shelved , repeat . If you as a company can improve your profits it’s a win , win for the manufacturer . . . Per weight , per countainer ,then freighting , it maybe the new norm

Research the term FBA Amazon which will give light to perhaps what I elude too , a shipping hell hole for consumers looking for their normal daily purchases , then you have this table of sellers looking for a quick dollar .

I was told there was a shortage of some additive that goes into synthetic oil is reason. Check your local big truck parts supply house. That is where I was able to find some.

Both of my local auto parts stores told me its the bottles that are in short supply. They cannot get me the gallon jugs of rotella, but 5 gallon pails and barrels are easy to get.

Here in Houston I have been able to get rotella from heavy repair shops of truck shops which have drums of it. I had to take my old gallon jugs to them.

If you value your machinery, there are only two choices.

1. Liquimoly
2. Amsoil

You can't get any because I bought it all...
I go through a LOT of rotella every summer, and started running into these supply problems, so when I found someone nearby who had it, I bought somewhere around 150 gallons.
Filled the entire 8ft bed of one of my work trucks 2 layers deep...

Here we go again!

Have you had a chat with a tribologist working for liquimoly? Or someone in afton? Or NP lubes?

I have bought two gallon jugs at Home Depot in the last month or so. I was surprised that they carried it. This while Walmart was completely sold out. I think I got lucky though, not sure there are still any at the Despot.

Another question would be what’s the best substitute in the meantime? I was using one of the Dino Diesel varieties, I think Chevron was one that I used a lot.
