I'm sure I'll get side tracked but post final price if you have time.

That is so cool! People paid $10k for the 760k mile one that came up last summer.

I love the idea of caring for such a high mile example, thank you for sharing!

Nice looking car. Is the original MB Tex holding up that well, or have the seats been replaced?

I replace the driver side skins, and it appears that the third row seat was added afterward. Other than that, the rest of the interior is original.

Not just M-B, all legacy station wagons have become super-popular lately. That was the minivan of the 1960-70's. In 10 years, people may find minivans desirable again, especially families who would appreciate the sliding doors. People are already converting M-B Sprinters.

I'm your new top bidder

We'll see what happens, but I'm running out of things to detail and polish on my 240d. I can't stop thinking about how satisfying it must be to pressure wash your wheel wells. Can't stop won't stop. I guess we'll see how irrational this desire gets...

Here's how I view it...

Negatives against bidding: fear of looming breakdown, body damage, paint condition and color, interior cleanliness, and you won't look wealthy / sexy / or like much of a BaT enthusiast.

Positives for bidding: you can't put 632k on a bad car, you can't get to 632k with poor maintenance, you get bragging rights for mileage, and you get to thump your chest about build quality, and ROLLguy ownership. I dunno who you are, but this guys got 7k posts on a diesel Benz forum still posting in 2022 haha That's exactly the kinda prior ownership experience that I would look for.

BaT is weird with bid timing. He's running at a healthy normal 10% following-rate with his listing. I could easily see people flooding in at the end.

I really really wish I reached out proactively to ask Rollguy or caught wind of this early. I've been looking at that car listed in his signature for months. But then again, it would be so so cool to have this listing sell, and me return in 5 years with this at 700k and looking super clean. I'm bidding for the cleaning experience.

Auction says it sold for $8151, I think. Amazing what people will pay for a 1million km car! But it's not just a car - its a W123 diesel!

My '85 has only done 455k km. Feels like it will run forever.
