Pix of Helgas travels

An evocative photo of Helga on a run to Tahoe last autumn (when it was running). She didn't like it one bit and lost a cylinder on the way back...
Pulled head, etc....

Just thought folks would like to see the old familiar sight in a new setting...

The picture is quite big, but it is one of my favorite shots.

US 89 between Great Falls and Browning, Mt. Saw three elk, two mule deer and one car in the 70 mi stretch south of Browning. Aren't these cars fun?

Turbo,
Lovely picture, says it all! I would suppose the car is hitting its stride, and about to change pitch a bit as it bites into this slight grade...

Da,

You only saw one car in 70 miles!!! And I bet you felt confident in your benz, huh?

240 Ed,

Real confident for it's age, but I do have my days like everybody else. One was 620mi with the driver's widow taped up (regulator), another was 750mi without a clutch (slave cylinder). Too bad I have to drive a couple hundred miles to get into the fun roads for this car. Is Helga back on the road?

Helga is still laid up. Due to laziness!
Took the head off, didn't find anything wrong, so I lapped the valves. I think the chain was so far off, that one cylinder wasn't getting enough compression and misfiring.
We will see what we will see.
