OM606.962 from E class to OM606.961 in S class!? Is that possible!?

Can I put OM606.962 from E class to OM606.961 in S class!?

What must change ?

I was found one E class w210 with 300 turbo diesel, what must get from it to put into S class, which engine is for repair.

Awhile back I read a comment from one of the Brabus tuner people. Someone asked if they could put a V12 supercharged Brabus engine in a W126. His reply, "With enough time and money, ANYTHING is possible". That said, the moment you begin to change the stock components (especially engines) the value of the car can take a nose dive.

This is why numbers matching (engine and chassis) in the world of vintage cars has a high value to car collectors......

What’s to say that this is vintage, collectible, etc? Lots of MB diesels have had swapped engines over time.

For the OP, the likely things to consider include:
-oil pan
-engine mounts
- computing interfaces
- intake hardware
- fuel filter hardware
- exhaust routing
-auxiliary systems mounts and belts

Not all of these are guaranteed to be different. But it’s a start for what OP needs to investigate.

I think OP is from Europe and asking about putting an OM606 from a W210 into a W140 that came with an OM606 also.
