I used mine for this until I snapped it clean loosening lug nuts . :) Didn't set me back much.

I have one of those cheapo, pseudo torque wrenches made of a slightly flexible steel shaft with a gauge down at the end that supposedly tells you how many feet pound you are applying, based on how much the shaft bends. It’s long, I don’t use it as a torque wrench anymore, not that I ever trusted it that much, it makes a pretty good breaker bar however.

If you really need the torque that leverage provides, take your favorite breaker bar to hardware store and get the smallest galvanized pipe that it will fit into. Often you can get three or 4 feet, then cut it to whatever length you want.

I would agree that they are probably not to be relied on as a torque wrench. I brought it maybe 20 years ago and for some reason still have it. It does put some pretty good torque on the nut.

Actually they're *very* accurate, just a .I.A. to use .

I store my flex handle (misnomer : breaker bar) with the cheater pipe slipped in it's handle .

haha....me, too! My dad, and his buddies, all WWII vets, from whom I gleaned much knowledge and experience "workin on cars", used to call the cheater pipe a "torque multiplier"...lol:)
