W123 Alternator Radio Supressor
Hello,
In part of my saga towards rebuilding my car, I came across the image I've attached. In the pelican parts repair guide, they illustrate a radio hum resistor. My alternator (300D, reman of unknown vintage), is missing this goodie. I was curious when I saw the empty + terminal on the alternator. Is there any point to concern myself with trying to find another resistor box? The car isn't even running yet nor does it have a working radio for that matter, lol! |

Looking at brand new remans from autozone, it looks like the 55A had the suppressor and the 65A did not... Curious.

I've had some with and others without, none had any static from the alternator, not even on AM .
All but one had Becker radios .

Ive seen them on some. Question really is if the circuit (capacitors?) are still any good? I doubt the low dollar remanufactured units check it...
