W126 OM617a Timing Chain Tensioner Guide Misalignment
Hi,
Looking at my timing chain tensioner guide I noticed misalignment between the guide and the tensioner. I attached a photo below. I have a new part on the way because I will be redoing the timing chain anyway, but is this normal? If not, how is this corrected? Part appears to be OEM Mercedes with the part number and symbol.

Seen it before but cannot say if it is normal. Can you pull back to where it should be? If yes, the pivot hole in the bottom of the rail and/or the pivot pin may be worn.
Good luck!!!

It has some play to move it into place. I will be eventually pulling it anyway. I saw on another thread someone that used a copper sleeve to align them but wanted to see if it was necessary before attemping that.

If it cannot be pushed more than halfway off position I wouldn't deem it urgent, rather I'd put it on a "to be done" list.
Good luck!!!

I've never seen one that didn't line up like that.
