Going back on topic a bit, it’s amazing how many nice but high mileage w123 cars are out there. I’d been looking for a nice late w124. Far fewer of these out there than w123 cars. And the junky w123 cars, with that thick single stage paint, still look good for a long time and high mileage if the rust doesn’t get them. Dashes do crack fairly easily. Seems the w126 and w124 were more resilient (knocking on wood).
