Having to give up on Pelican parts

I have tried to get a simple answer to my question from Pelican parts for a month and I guess it isn't possible. I have literally asked them a simple question 7 or 8 times to get the part indicated. They keep responding requesting the VIN over and over again or telling me that they have already responded. I have also spent over an hour on hold. (Your call is now first in line) I would like to be able to depend on this company which seems to have the needed parts in most cases. I did order a part and some crush washers came that were way too small.

Does anyone have the EXACT part indicated by the red arrow?
It is a 1982 300CD. WDB AB53AXCB001552. Also the fuel filter housing number is shown in the picture.

I think you're looking for either of these items. There's a metal washer and an o-ring.

I called up my dealer to see if they were still available and I've listed the prices they gave.

(41) Sealing Ring --- A 00 099 700 48 ($1.20)
(44) Seal Ring --- A 00 399 758 48 ($2.40)

You could probably take it out and take it to your local MB dealer and they could match it up or even try the local NAPA dealer.

The aluminum crush washer there is a M18 size.
The O-ring at the bottom is a M10x15x2.5

Unless you have a -02 style housing and bolt that use 2 o-rings, in that case:
There is no crush washer.
Top O-ring is a M14x19x2.5
Bottom O-ring is a M10x15x2.5

I made a youtube video about how I fixed my cars constant leak from the housing.

To make a long story short, I Used a M18 Bonded rubber crush washer instead of the Aluminum one, and replaced the o-ring with a Viton one, so it will withstand any bio-diesel that may be at various blends depending on fuel station. Hasn't leaked a drop ever since.

Can confirm. Rolled up to the MB dealership in the '84 300D I previously owned... needed a set of front lca bushings. Parts counter dude looked at me like I was ordering a set of fins for a coelacanth.

I've learned that if you walk in with part numbers you'll get plenty of help.

I started looking up the parts in EPC because the guys behind the counter aren't going to be familiar with older vehicles and don't want to spend 20 minutes with you poking your head over the counter. It started with me bringing part numbers in on a list, going to the same people regularly and learning their names. Then I started calling them on the phone with part numbers and quotes. Eventually, they decided that if I was looking up the numbers myself, I was doing the work for them and deserved a discount. I get wholesale pricing simply because I developed a good relationship.

At this point I usually email a list of part numbers and quantities to one of the parts guys. I get a nice email back with availability, prices and how long it will take to get to the dealer.

Developing the relationship and showing someone that you aren't the normal jerkoff Mercedes owner goes a long way.

I've found much help at the MB dealership here in Greenville by walking up to the desk and laying a paper with the part numbers on the counter. The guy at the counter won't change your oil for you but will plug the number in MB's database and let you know all it shows.

It’s sad and I hate to talk poorly of the site sponsor, because without them the wealth of archives of MercedesShop/peachparts would be gone. But Pelican and the other parts houses have all become a joke for a lot of parts. Too often I’m looking for something and get the wrong result, or a list of a million tools and chemicals that I don’t want or need.

The old worldpac system worked great. I guess they were bought by AAP or something and are no longer. Even with any reasonable logical breakout, it’s a craps shoot whether or not I’ll find what I need.
