When I line up the cam and tower marks on my 87 300SDL, I see that the crank pulley pointer is at 2.5-degrees BTDC. Shouldn't it be at TDC or something ATDC?

On a side note, it's really difficult to align the cam and tower marks since they're not adjacent. Must have been designed by the same guy who came up with the .97x engines.
