602 with no egr mess
When I pulled the intakes on my 91 300D I was pleasantly surprised at how clean it is. All the turbo/EGR associated vacuum stuff is there, so I’m not sure it has been converted to a pressure actuated wastegate. My 603.971 certainly wasn’t this clean inside when I opened it up a few months back. Is this typical? Previous owner didn’t indicate any work to clean the intakes, and they didn’t look like they had been opened in recent memory. I do want to either put permanent vacuum on the wastegate (I know this has risks), or shift to a pressure operated one. Regardless I don’t want EGR. But how plausible is it that this is “normal” after 228k? Regardless I’m happy…

Yes when I had mine apart I was surprised how clean it was. I am probably going to the pressure actuated waste gate soon as well, since I have no boost.
