remove windshield washer nozzle

I need to remove one that broke off at the bottom under the hood. Everything is pretty obvious (or shown in dieselgiant's pictorial DIY) except how to get the old one out.

Do I just grab the locking tabs with a needlenose plier and yank the little arms off?

Actually from under the hood pinch the locking tabs with needle nose pliers and push up. You only need to get the locking tabs beyond the sheet metal of the hood. Then from the top pull the washers the rest of the way out.

Use a socket that just fits over the bottom of the nozzle and it pushes (or pulls from the top) right thru.

You can add the double spray nozzles on both sides then also.
If you are getting junkyard nozzles be careful not to break the old plastic.

There are 4 little protrusions on the nozzle visible under the hood. Two facing horizontally are the tabs you release. The nozzle does not fit in a round hole. There are two notches in the hole from right to left that the plastic spring clips fit into. You have to release the clips with a long needle nose while pushing gently from below on the tip of the nozzle while also using a bright light to see what you are doing. If you have three hands it will be easy. I had little luck with the needle nose I had. Clearances were too tight. I ended up pushing gently and releasing the tabs with a small blade screwdriver one at a time and it popped out easily. My nozzle was clogged and I used a tiny long needle and air to clear it.
