www.dieselfuelinjector.guru Injector Services
Hello Diesel Community,
As a heads up, this fall, I think around the send of September or early October 2022, my website is coming up for renewal. I do not plan on renewing it, and at that time, I plan on retiring my pop tester for good. That includes all of the other services I do. That is around three to four months from now. I would like to thank everyone for their decade long support and trust they placed in me to do their injectors. I have around 30-ish springs left for the OFV, around five or so OFVs for the OM606 engine, and around a half dozen rebuild kits left for the lift pumps themselves. Again, many thanks. |

Well, I for one think that is horrible news. Greazzer has done fabulous work for me over the years. Sure wish you would still be around but I suppose that is selfish of me. Before you retire for good, do you have anyone you can recommend for when we need injector work done? Nevertheless we are gonna miss your quality workmanship and expertise!

Thank you so much for all your efforts. I have two fantastic sets of injectors from you and my 300TD is running great, thanks to the advice you gave me for timing the IP with the air method. Much, much appreciated.

Hey guys and gals
Thanks so much for the kind words Other than the “pro’s”, e.g. Bosch shops or Indy’s, I really don’t know or heard of any one out there. There was a guy doing them a few years ago but he literally charged three times what I charged and I only knew about him because I got his re-do’s. Anywho I figured out my website’s password and I put a notice up regarding closing down shop in September I think Kent does them or maybe used to do them |

Mind if I ask. Any particular reason why you're closing doors?

Sure
1. I was super disciplined to check emails on a daily basis, but in the last six to nine months I realized I could go a whole week and not even think about checking emails 2. It’s hot in Columbia 25% of the year and I never really could get around to climate control in my garage and we’ve been thinking of moving to the panhandle of Florida to a condo so no more cars 3 I can make a lot more money flipping one or two cars per year in a fraction of the time and risk versus doing 100+ sets of injectors per year 4. I seem to get a bunch of orders right around the time I want to travel for a few days or just take a break and you really cannot go away long term with orders piling up 5. It just takes 1/100 customers to make you scratch your head and wonder why you’re doing this for the hobbyists community 6. It’s time to open up the market to someone new. 7. I got literally a dozen major projects I’ve been promising myself or my wife for years to get done. I would rather focus on those versus injector sets every week Above are the major considerations I used in my decision making process |

Only 25%??
You know Columbia has 4 seasons, almost summer, super summer, ugh it’s still summer, and Christmas. Thanks for your support, you helped keep 2 IDI cars on the road, vstech has one of them and TimFreeh has the other one now. You will be missed.

It can be a screen door to hell when it comes to heat. I should have typed 25% of the time is when I tinker in the garage from 3am to 9am but being quiet as a church mouse because of the heat.

Thanks for your effort over the years. I never used your service since I rigged my own pop-tester. I used a large hand pump off ebay used to test Ford diesel pressure regulators (or such) which would cost ~$750 alone. I also have a small Italian hand pump (ebay) and bought fittings to rig it, but never got around to it. Would bolt it to a table. For shims, I just bought various thicknesses of stainless shim washers at McMaster-Carr (posted PN's before), though recall only using the thinnest ones (10 mil?).
Not busy w/ career so might help someone local in the Sacramento area. I've thought of doing injector rebuilds, but like you I don't care to deal with fussers. I am sure there are people who would make unfounded claims that you didn't tune their injectors properly because their engine still runs poorly. Just selling a few car parts on ebay has confirmed that. Example, I once ran across a Sanden compressor on a 1970's Chevy straight-six mini-pickup so grabbed the brackets thinking someone would appreciate them. I listed on ebay w/ research on the engine and possible issues (alternator and AC locations), and it sold fast. A guy later asked "any photos?" and I said there were 12 photos in the listing, but it already sold. He said "I bought it". A week later, he posted bad feedback stating, "Doesn't fit.". No other communication and never told me what vehicle and engine he had. Saw he left bad feedback for most purchases, with sellers responding, "unfair", but you can't defend yourself on ebay.
