Mercedes w201 tunnel heats up

Has anyone had problem like that. I was at the and of 250km driving with my w201 2.0D and I noticed that gear stick, parking brake handle and tunnel ate all warm. I never paid much attenthion to this but now I am worried. Is it normal or should it be cold?

What you describe seems normal. Heat from the transmission rises.
