Thanks, we love photos. I found the pinch weld rusted thru partway vertical at the bottom center of the rear glass in my 1985 CA 300D. Only in-there because had to replace the glass after a tree limb smashed it. Working out the aluminum lock strip was tough, then working the glass out of the gasket of the donor was tough. I now wonder if the rubber should come out with the glass, as true in my 1965 Dart (shattered glass trying to pry it out). Front windshields are different.

I wonder if that spot caused the trunk leak, but recall it still leaks, as does my 1984 300D. I suspect the trunk drain channels aren't sloped down enough. Of course, keep them clear. I didn't weld any metal. I might have used a little Bondo glass, though still some lip left and got the remaining steel shiny.

Good you removed the triangle trim on the lower c-pillar without damage, as those are tricky. Always leaf gunk trapped behind the grills which cover the sunroof drains. If it sits wet, that causes corrosion.

THANX Rich ! .

I sent you another photo to reduce, I hope you get to it before long .

Yes, the backlight is designed to be removed with the trim intact then you remove the trim .

Finished!

I got the paintwork done, and the window and seal installed. The car will be going live on ebay on Wednesday. Tell your friends. I will post the item number when it goes live.

This is a very nice "low mileage" (comparatively speaking) 4 spd manual car with only 126,000 original miles. Ice Cold Sanden A/C, NO LEAKS!!!

Thumbs up Ready To Go !

WOW Rich ~ that's a real sweetie .

I'm sure it'll get a good return .

Might you detail the R134a thing ? .

I'm beginning to address the mediocre SANDEN and P.F. condenser up grade in my '82 240D .

TIA,

Not sure what you mean by "Might you detail the R134a thing ? ."
The car is running R12, and it is the COLDEST 123 I have ever experienced. Quite often, I need to roll the temp wheel toward the white area or turn the fan down a notch or two so I don't freeze! This is only possible with the P.F. condenser and R12. I believe that even with the stock condenser and R12, performance like this is not possible.

Smile A/C Details

Oh, now I get it .

A buddy of mine had two /w123's with low mileage, they had the original A/C R4 compressors etc. and he complained about the ice cold A/C blast out the dash vents, what a boob .

It did not sell

The car was so close to the reserve, but did not sell. I mistakenly checked the automatic re-list, so I could not offer it to the high bidder. The second time it only got to a little over $5,600.

The car is still available.
