Yea, I agree 100%. I am going to flush the entire system, including the torque converter. I Already have a new filter, gasket from Mercedes, and some Dex/Merc fluid. I also used the yellow "high mileage" bottle. This is the first time an additive has actually "fixed" a problem for me.

I will likely drain the pan and the torque converter and replace the fluid several times to get all the old fluid out. I realize that a "real" flush requires a machine, and this is more of a DIY flush, but I'm confident that this will work just fine. Plus, I already had the fluid left over from another car, so there is no sense in spending a couple of hundred bucks when I don't have to.

Edit: I am obviously going to drop the pan the first time to change the filter and gasket.

Thumbs up A Good Plan

That oughta do it .

I hope to do the same on my 240D today, the tranny I had rebuilt a few years back never did shift properly and broke in dense traffic with a full load of my Sweet and foster boys, they fixed it but I don't like the looks of the fluid in it (red and smells sweet, I'm just paranoid) and I bet they removed the magnet I put in the pan .

I don't like the looks of the flex hoses to the cooler so I ordered up news hoses and a filter kit, after draining the torque converter I plan to blow the cooler out , see how much ATF remains in there .
