A great combination: 2005 E320CDI + B100 Biodiesel

I have ran my CDI through about six tanks of B100 (100% Biodiesel), and it loves it!

Biodiesel and Renewable Diesel

In California it's likely renewable diesel not Biodiesel. Biodiesel is a methyl ester and renewable diesel is a pure alkane produced in a cracking tower similar to regular diesel. The biodiesel suffers from the same problem as it's feed stock, vegetable oil, in that it's unstable and subject to oxidative rancidity. The renewable diesel is not due to the fact that it's completely saturated, no double bonds. To be sure you're getting the right one go to Propel HPR stations to fill up or look for this sign
I keep a gallon of the renewable diesel around to clean grease off tool and clean oily surfaces, it works great!

What??? I brew my own Biodiesel in the processor in the photo from oil I get at local restaurants. So no, it is not Renewable Diesel (sold at Unocal stations).

Great subject line…i agree 100%! I havent been on the forum for a while, but still making my own fuel and running 2005 cdis. Im making my 510th batch at 50gal per batch, and i now have 4 cdis all running 100% homemade bd. My highest mileage one is at 398k. I bought it at 130k, so its run 268k almost exclusively on bd. Best car model ever!
