I don't have the vacuum diagram. Does anyone a vacuum diagram for a 1982 US 300CD THAT INCLUDES transmission vacuum connection? They are hard to find online. BTW, I have an EGR delete.

It’s literally a sticker on your car.

IIRC it’s the black one coming off of 14.9.

Sorry, from the German shop manual but at least you'll have a big clear diagram.

WD:
Can you post a shot of the legend that does not have the Acrobat window in the lower left corner? Some important items are covered up by that window.

Good catch, sorry about that. Wouldn't want you to miss out on der Druckumsetzer
and die Einstellschraube, not to mention das Umschaltventil...lol.

I re-uploaded it above.

Post Tranny Flaring

Before you $pend any $ on the B2 kit, take the time to do a proper HOT ATF & filter replacement including the torque converter then disconnect the single vacuum pipe going to the modulator and attach a pressure gauge and test the no vacuum pressure .

(yes, there IS an easy to reach torque converter drain plug, it uses a 5MM Allen wrench to remove, most of the tranny's old fluid is inside the torque converter, why it's so important to do this job correctly and in the proper order .)

Quite often the filter has never been changed and the ATF is brown or black, this means even if everything else is fine, it can't maintain the necessary internal pressures as Mercedes slushboxes use real filters not screens like most everyone else .

After doing all that adjust the modulator as necessary and test drive it with the modulator's vacuum pipe disconnected ~ it should upshift fine, if not there's an internal problem, you can then adjust the vacuum control valve on the IP until it up shifts when you like it and doesn't bang on the down shifts .

DON'T BE AFRAID OF THIS ! .

It's basic and simple like the rest of the car, even if the B2 is bad it will still need a compete fluid change and filter kit and the internal pressure tested and adjusted ~ don't trust nor expect any shop to do this time consuming and slightly oily job , YOU will do it better because you care .

Update... no, the slipping/flare isn't resolved. This filter was replaced about a year ago along with a partial fluid replacement. (Many feel that all of the fluid shouldn't be replaced all at once.)

I disconnected the vacuum and it got rid of the 2-3 flare. But, the 3-4 flare was still there.

2-3 shift is happening at 18 MPH
3-4 shift is happening at 24 MPH- Do these shift points sound right?

For now, I'm making sure that i let off the accelerator peddle during a shift in case the flaring is damaging anything.

The B2 kit is only $24 https://www.pelicanparts.com/search/?q=126+270+05+35

All sources say this part is an easy install. It seems to me that the B2 kit is the next step. Comments???

If those are full throttle shift points they are much too low. Try tightening the control pressure cable.

How do we tighten the control pressure cable? Are there pictures of this?

Post Running In /Circles

Until you do each step correctly you're chasing your tail and wasting your time .
