2005 e320 cdi brakes

yesterday, I was cruising and along out of nowhere my brakes failed. the red light came on the dash and I had no brakes, I was under the impression that was covered by the extended warranty on the brakes. am I correct?

Seriously? You had no brake messages at all prior to the red message? That's really scary. This is the first I've heard of the red screen and no brakes (although you do have hydraulic backup) with no alerts prior.

Yes, SBC is under extended warranty for 25 years. But it's all a question of what codes are showing.

This is what they'll be looking for:

Main SBC codes:
C249F Operating time of a7/3 (hydraulic unit) is exceeded
C2131 Pressure Reservoir faulty
C235C or C235A Service threshold reached

I guess I should ask the question directly....prior to the red message, did you have a Visit Workshop message related to the brakes?

Go under the SBC menu...that's where you'll find them.

Which iCarSoft do you have?

OK, so you have an MB II....same one I have. Yes, you should be able to read all MB codes. Just search manually under the SBC menu.

Could you please answer my question about whether you saw any brake messages on the instrument cluster PRIOR TO the red message. Thanks.
