Help identifying part at injection pump - 617.952
 

While doing some work on the fuel system of my 617.952 engine, I came across a part that I am seeking help identifying.

The attached pictures 1, 2, and 3 show some views from above the injection pump - the part is attached on the passenger side of the injection pump. It appears that the part has split apart/cracked from ageing over the decades. Picture 4 shows the component on the firewall that the part connects to.

If anyone could please help identify the part, I'd appreciate the assistance. Thanks-

I believe its called a rack position sensor. Not real sure its necessary. Think it was only on 84-85's. Search for it on this forum and you should find your answer.
