Random Question W123 300D
Why do the turbo 300D's not have a high idle knob like the non-turbo W123's?

Because you get all that extra horsepower

I've got a high idle knob in my 4 speed swapped Grey 82 300D.
The hole in the dash is there, all you need is the bracket, cable and such. literally fits right in. I found one in a junkyard, pulled it because I thought it was neat and had never seen one. Got home, felt around on the dash and realized the hole was there but covered up with material. poked through carefully and installed it.

Jarod, I have thought about doing just that. Seems like it would come in handy in the winter. Just seems odd to me that the turbo models don't have one.

Is the factory idle speed set higher on turbo engines?

Comes in handy when getting out of an icy parking spot. While in gear turn up the idle. I've found it just enough extra to get the car moving without the rear wheels loosing traction

I liked it for helping me get used to the clutch feel after the 4 speed swap, especially since I also did a 2.88 diff swap right after the 4 speed swap, so gearing was a little taller and TN hills took a little learning with the light flywheel, and taller rear end.
I don't hardly touch it anymore, I'm not even sure if it still is hooked up to be honest.
