2014 e250 at auction thinking of biddin
And it’s been a good year since I’ve posted on here. Hope everyone is doing well! And happy holidays to all!
I am here today because I was at the auction previewing cars for Thursday’s sale and ran across a 14 E250 diesel 4matic. It has a really good Carfax with a lot of service history on it. It is a 2 Owner car and it has 126k miles.. It is heavily Optioned. Keyless go, Panoramic roof, Harman Cardin, sport package, looks like designo package, Ventilated seats, Can you get the picture. Started and ran terrific! a little bit of vibration through the steering wheel and the seat. Seems like motor mounts would be first on the list. CEL is on but I forgot my scanner at the office. I am going back out there with it tomorrow To pull the codes. The beauty cover on the engine and the belly pan underneath were in the trunk. Even the heat shield from the hood padding was in the trunk. which I thought was odd. It looks as if someone has been digging around trying to figure something out. It was a trade in at the Hyundai dealership believe it or not. They put it on their lot for sale for $15200.. The only other thing I noticed that really scared me was the belly pan was pretty saturated with oil. I’ve got to crawl around under the car tomorrow when I have more time. I figured the dealership decided to bring it to Auction after the CEL popped up or they were chasing an oil leak. I bought a 2005 CDI from the same Hyundai dealer the week before and sold it in just a few days for double my money. But I understand those are the last of the great breed. If you don’t mind me asking what do you guys know about these 2.1 four-cylinder diesel’s? And what should I be on the lookout for? Of course I can provide more information tomorrow when I have some codes in hand. Thanks in advance Joe |

I owned/loved CDI... But mine must be the one bad example-- tons of electrical gremlins... great ride though. What price u think u can pickup that e250 for? |
I sure will. Headed back out there today at some point. I have not seen one of these before at my auction so I am not sure what she will bring average MMR price is around $11k But it will bring nowhere close given the mysteries it holds. I paid $4300 for a perfect 2 owner 2005 cdi with 141k a few weeks ago. Sold it in 4 days for $8500

Did you end up buying this car? Also- was the failed part under the "dieselgate AEM warranty"? |
No I have not bought the car yet. It continues to run thru the auction tomorrow. It has been a "No Sale" the past few weeks. The bidding gets up to about $8000. The Hyundai dealership actually has it listed on their website with the engine light on for $15200
I was not aware of a Mercedes Dieselgate |
Talked to MB service in Chattanooga He advised me that he would need to see the car but he did say the code I have pulled on the car is consistent with the cars affected in the campaign. Soooo hmmm My guess is the selling Hyundai dealer knows nothing about this .
I am going to try to see if I can get the car to MB dealer for a inspection. |
