3M Super Trim Adhesive won't spray....
Happy holidays all. Recently found an older can of 3M Super Trim Spray that won't spray. I removed the spray nozzle and soaked in paint thinner for about a week. I took it out today and noticed a dried piece of adhesive blocking the spray nozzle air way so I took a small nail and managed to remove it. After re-installing the spray nozzle and shaking the spray can vigorously, it still will not spray. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
all input and ideas are appreciated...... |

You may still have adhesive in the spray channel. Try soaking in acetone.
You may also be able to use a substitute nozzle from brake/carb cleaner or undercoating spray cans should work.

Thank you, I have some acetone so I will try that first. If it doesn't work then as you say perhaps a substitute nozzle may work..... |

Thanks for link. I was not aware you could recharge them. OK as long as you stay away from MAWP of the can. I can't imagin it being much hogher than about 150 psi.

Won't Spray
Nails are far too big to clean the passage, use one wire from a hand steel bristle brush .
I don't even yank the bristle out ~ I use one of the edge ones that sticks out at a crazy angle . I've been doing an engine overhaul and dug out some 40 + year old Foo-Foo cans of paint , I was well pleased when most were still perfectly good . Don't forget to shake them very well for at least 60 seconds, time it with your watch else you'll stop too soon . I agree, if rotating the spray head after you've cleaned it with a wire, typ depressing it and rotating in in the can as it's depressed . Mind the nozzle's direction ! when it begins to spray you can ruin your working clothes . DO NOT try heating the can ! if it's cold to the touch you can leave it in the sunlight but occasionally the cans will burst so tread lightly here .
