Bypass vacuum cover box? 83 240d 4 speed
 

The question I have is should I bypass the vacuum lines
On the valve cover in the black box for my 83 240d 4 speed manual? What role do they play if any since I dont have an automatic trans? Would I have a issue with other vaccuum lines...ie..door locks and such?

Vacuum on 240 controls shift firmness, and door locks I think. It may also control WHEN to shift as well…

I put back the lines together this morning as when i purchased the car was hanging off to the side. I had to glue the plastic pins that the rubber thing that the lines go through sticks into. Yes, ****fts better and locks work now

Supposed to say shifts better
