1997 E300D OM606 main vacuum source?

Can anybody post a picture of the brake booster line main vacuum source nipple that provides vacuum to all other functions?

What problem(s) are you having?

There are two separate vacuum systems in your car, and there is no nipple on the brake booster line to look for (assuming it is the same as my '96). The vacuum pump on the engine supplies vacuum to the brake booster and for engine-related functions (EGR, intake flaps). There is an electric vacuum pump under the back seat, RH side, that supplies vacuum for everything else including the door/trunk locking and HVAC systems.

You are wrong. On 1996 nipple for rest of the functions are on the pump. On 1997 design of the vacuum pump changed and nipple is moved on the brake booster line. You can't just assume things.

Yes, I can assume things. There are, after all, many similarities between my '96 and your '97. If I am wrong about this small detail it would be better for you to educate me instead of insulting me when I am trying to help you.

And how does this difference you point out negate anything else I mentioned in my reply to you? Does your car not also have a vacuum pump under the rear seat? If not I'd like to know for my own benefit, thank you.

And what about the question about any trouble you might be having? You'd like us to help you so how about giving a little more information about what you are after so we don't have to guess?

I am here because I need to see the picture of the brake booster line nipple that provides the vacuum to all other functions. You have 1996, you can't help me, you can only confuse me even more.

negates it because pump under the rear seat operates door locks and has nothing to do with vacuum source coming from the engine side.

I already posted what trouble I have, I can' seem to find the picture of 1997 E300D brake booster line, specifically the vacuum source nipple that should be near the brake booster check valve

Yes, I see now that HVAC gets its vacuum from the engine as well, and that the pump under the rear seat is only for the central locking system. Thanks for confirming that for me.

Incidentally, I looked up the vacuum pump, brake booster vacuum line, and brake booster for '96 and '97 E300 and all three of these parts are the same for both years.

Good luck to ya!

1996 pump part number is 0002303165
1997 pump part number is 0002303665
