transmission service-then lower rpm on hwy?

I did a transmission fluid and filter change including the torque converter on my 90 300d 2.5 turbo. I don't know when it was last done, but probably quite a while ago. Now I think I am seeing slightly lower RPM on the highway at 65mph. Before it was easily 2700 rpm, now around 2600 rpm at 65Mph. Its barely noticeable, but I think I'm not just imagining the difference. Also shifts better of course and seems to have a little more power. I'm glad I did it, and now have to do the service in my new to me 95 e300d, which seems also to be at 2700rpm at 65. I think it has the same gear ratios and rear end, but not sure. Did anyone else find this to be the case? I'm happy about it because the car always seemed like 4th gear wasn't tall enough, and now is a little better.

IMHO, probably not the case...if it was 3-500 rpm then I'd say there is a chance it is going into a higher gear that it didn't before the service...just my $0.03 (inflation).
