Mileage badges

Do the badges come in miles or km only?

I have my 250,000 kilometer badge, but have lost the paperwork for getting them from MBUSA. I'm coming up on my 500,000 kilometer point on my '85 300D and want to submit for it.

Can someone send along the contact info for this? Thanks!

Thanks 84300td

Funny thing about the brakes. I asked my dad when was the last time that he replaced the brakes. He said that he knows that it hasn't been done in 5 years or so, and really thinks that pads have only been replaced a couple of times since he owned the car, 180,000 miles After reading that pads, of some members, are replaced after every 15M miles, I was shocked. BTW, Dad has a very good memory about that kind of stuff.

Anyway, whether it is a couple or a few times that the pads have been changed, it is clear that his, and my, driving styles are easy on brakes. Here's the secret. Pretend that an open cup of coffee is on the dashboard. Whether starting, stopping or turning, DONT SPILL THE COFFEE.

Not only is this driving style easy on brakes, it is easy on about every component on the car.

jcd. yes i think of myself also as fairly easy on the brakes and i believe i got about 45k out of the last ones (front) with about
50/50 city/hwy miles and even including some heavy duty (teenager) abuse.

Brake pad life.

My dad and I were discussing what is easier on brakes and rotors... long soft braking or short harder braking. I like to do the long soft braking just for the comfort. I also let off the accelerator when I see I have to stop soon so the car slows itself before I brake, saves brakes!

Though from what he said I guess that longer softer braking is better for pads. Thoughts?

Kyle,

If you're waiting for your award, go to the mbusa website and send an e-mail from the site. They will help resolve the issue, as they did for me. On my award, they lost two of them and I finally was able to resolve it via e-mail.

PS, keep copies,,,,I didn't
