1 Attachment(s)
Hello every body,
I have to re-glue the connectors that power the rear window electrical defroster. From fatcory thy are glueonto the glass of the window. My mistake (I did not know how to remothe liner). Can somebody indicate any tip for a good electric conductive glue that I could use to repair or any hint for repair. The manual says change the windows!! It is a bit too much expensive for me. In advance many thanks |
No glue will work, you might try some electronics flux and a heat gun to remelt the solder…

Thank you the quick reply, as far as I see there is no trace of any soldering on the contacts. There is a white color. Would you indicate a make for the flux you suggest?

Looks like solder to me…
See if hitting the pad with heat melts it. |

I will try Regards P.S I don't know why "instant mail reply" did not work |
Permatex also offers repair kits that allow you to reconnect a broken defroster line. It is a conductive paint that you can use to bridge gaps and thus reconnects the lines. I've used this product several times and it has held up 20+ years.
Good luck and as vstec mentions, preparation is the key to success. Rubbing alcohol will be a good final clean/prep before applying. |
