Swirl Motor Delete/Oil Cooler Seal Saga

I ordered a 4.7k resistor, but I could not discern where it must be plugged in. The swirl motor has a 4 pin plug with 3 wires (Brown, Red/Green, Gray). My guess would be Brown and Red/Green?

This cooler seal job is a booger. 2 days to dismantle. I have a lot of cleanup to do - the engine is a mess, and every part that came off of it is filthy. I had a lot of difficulty figuring out how the EGR system came apart. The assembly video was a life saver. Because of the difficulty I had disassembling, I may me able to reassemble some things faster. Electrical Clips and all go together much faster also, and knowing where all of the bolts go is a big help.

Swirl motor? Maytag?

If this is for the om642 engine then you just put the resistor across the two centre pins , does not matter which way around you put it but it must go in the two centre pins only.

After you get it all back together again, you might consider adding an oil catch can in the PCV circuit. This will help reduce the carbon sludge in your intake manifolds.

One other note:
The large torx bolt that mounts the Turbo to the pedestal is a stretch bolt and needs to be replaced. This gets missed often and is not included in the few cooler seal change kits. Nothing worse than going through all of this and end up with an oil leak at the base of the Turbo. I can't recall if it is 1 or 2x 90° turns after setting torque.

Good luck, the job is tedious indeed

Finished the job this afternoon and took a test drive. No Turbo Boost?!! I checked it and it is turning, but no boost. I checked the connector from the two wire at back of the turbo and the one in front plugged into the controller. Had one code a temperature sensor somewhere on the intake - it may be the one on that is held in with a clip on the drivers side? After driving it threw a low boost code.

Any ideas on what to do or check?
