Help!

Hi folks,

I'm in serious need of a left front wheel hub assembly for a 1983 300D. I'm assuming the hub from any W123 will work, and pretty sure it doesn't matter if it is left or right side. If you gave one you are willing to sell at a reasonable price or know when I can get one I would be indebted to you.

psa, Yes I agree any W123 would work including L or R. If the bearings, seals and discs are the same as any other model they should interchange.

May help to post the vicinity.

OK what happened to the one you want to replace?

Is there no imported car Junk Yards where you are?

No, I live in the boonies..... literally. Short story on what happened was the wheel bearing started making noise and got pretty warm. I managed to get the car the 30 miles home, but when I tore into it the outer bearing and race were blue. Now it appears the heat pressure welded the race in the hub. Myself and two local shops have not been able to get the race out. HOWEVER, one of my wife's coworkers is parting out an 80 300d and is going to give me the hub! So.....I may be out of the woods!

Check the spindle/knuckle for blueness...see if you can also get the spindle. Usually when a bearing is that hot the spindle has been damaged. Test fit the bearings on the spindle before greasing and assembling the hub.

Thanks for the info and your problem is solved.

I have both left and right spindles for a W123. I got them from PnP a few years ago when they had more W123's. You are welcome to them. They are in Portland, OR.

W116 and w126 both use same spildles.
Trailing arms as well iirc...
I have plenty if needed.
