Waterless coolant...anyone heard of/used it?

Hi all. I came across this waterless coolant stuff on another board and thought I'd ask if anyone has used it. One of the articles mentions a diesel rig that uses it.

What do you all think about this?

Seems like someone on here was just asking about it. Someone had used it in a tractor I believe, but that was about it.

Yes, I use it in my 300SD and 300SDL. Seems to work about same as normal 50% antifreeze.

The advantages are no pressure in the cooling system, no corrosion from water and high boiling point (375 F).

Disadvantages are slightly less heat transfer and cost. About $25 a gallon and since you don't dilute it, you use twice as much.

Works great in my Diesel Ford tractor. The radiator gets plugged with chaff and by the time the high temp light came on, the 50% mix was boiling. With the Evans coolant, it doesn't boil when the high temp indicator comes on. So I can stop and clean out the radiator screen without any boiling or losing any coolant.

How many gallons does it take for a 300SD? I've been planning to put this stuff in a Ford diesel truck and also plan to put it in my 300SD. Everybody that I know that uses the Evans coolant swears by it. Also, does anybody know of a good place to buy this stuff for a good price. Seem like about $23/gal. is the best price I can find.

I bought 7 gallons direct from Evans. I filled both 300SD and 300 SDL and had about 1 1/2 gallons left.
