Talking New Addition to my Family

Now that I have got my climate issues worked out, I got some pics of the car to share. Have to admit these are not the best
but for now they will have to work. I just got this car last week in Fort Worth, from an older gentleman with two others just like it.
Always kept in the garage, and so-forth. I had gone up to Knoxville TN last week to pick up a car, and when I got there some things weren’t quite right, (and is wasn’t a diesel, it was a 1988 300E) so we came back without the car. Then I discovered this one. I guess things do happen for a reason. It is a 1983 300SD with 210k miles, Palomino interior and the only items not working now on the car are the cruise control and the tachometer. The seats and interior are beautiful! I am really happy; I just have to keep my wife in her 300D! We will be bringing both to the Texas Fall Shindig, so see you guys there!
Thanks for all the help guys!

Very cool and congrats!

Which one do you enjoy the most? I take it, the SD?

Surprisingly,
I each car is so different that I cant say. To me the 300D 123 chassis is small & somewhat nimble, and the 124 seems a lot larger. With that size however it is more comfortable, especially the seats & legroom. I wish that I had taken the last trip is the SD. I really feel that I have the best of both worlds with these two cars.

Bill,
I wanted to e-mail you and tell you, but I couldn’t find your e-mail.
This truly is the car I had been looking for. I just had to have patients. The funny thing is that we drove up to Knoxville TN to get a car. I had decided to "settle" on am '88 300E (bad idea)
Once I got there I regained my senses, and quickly left without that car. The day after we got back I found it. The old guy I bought it from had mine and a '91 300SE in the garage, and another 300SD in the driveway. He simply had run out of room.
I was very lucky! Everything on the car works except the antenna and the cruise control. I am very pleased!
I asked my wife yesterday evening "now you are going to drive down to Austin in November right?" We will be bringing both down. Thanks for your help along the way!

Robert Frick
