Park Brake light

The park brake light on my 83 300sd comes on sometimes even though the park break is disengaged. The light i am talking about is the red on that says brake and not the brake pad wear light. Also my drivers side door lock is still jammed. I can't unlock or lock it with the key from the outside.

When my brake light on my 80 300SD kept staying on it was because of low brake fluid.

Look for the loose connection at the park brake light. I think its behind the pedal But not sure on that.

Now locks:
I had the same problem. Tried everything. Nothing worked so I swapped the passenger side lock with the driver side lock. Its the whole lock-handle assembly. Just did it today. Some tips on that DIY project - search posts by MVK.

Before you swap this is what you should try.

1. Try changing the key. Used a newer one if you have.
2. Try some WD-40, then spray some silicone oil-spray, and then some graphite lock spray.
3. Also put the key in there and on the head of the key put a small vibrating device like massager. The vibrations travelling thru the key may loosen up one of the internal component for the lock mechanism. I have seen many folks do this and it has worked for them.
In any case you are due for a new lock-handle assembly. I would use the one from otherside. Hope this helps
