I might be able to join the diesel brigade soon - depending on some of the top-class info that I will stumble upon in this forum.

Problem is, I do not know the W202 250 Diesel from a bar of soap.


I've been kinda liivng (lurking mostly) in the Tech Help forum and currently drive a 1993 W124 200E. I also have never owned an automatic nor a diesel vehicle ....


The W202 in question is a 1996 vintage with 134000 km on the odo (that around 83000 mi) with a full service history. It's out of extended warranty and the current owner 'is fed up with mercedes dealers' (his exact words)

My predicament is - what is there to know about this model type in general as well as for the 250 Diesel specifically, both good and bad ?

Looking at the size of this forum (and the tech help forum) I need some pointers in what to look for when doing a search ...

can u please provide some pointers into applicable search items ?
