accelerator adjustment

May seem like a stupid question: do I take up slack by making the rods in the linkage shorter or longer? It does seem as if I have a lot of pedal travel before a response from the engine and I'd like to adjust and lubricate the linkage(s).

i'm pretty sure you make them longe. Double check that's your problem, or that you can't adjust it another way else before you even touch them. You don't want to mess up the adjustment on the rods and spend all day getting it back to normal.

P.S. Don't extend the clips at the end of the rod to far because the clips will start to screw off the rod.
