My guess is one of two things has happened.
Either the differential gearing has been drastically changed, or the drivetrain's stock.
Either way, chances are that car can't break 40. If the gearing was changed, that's where the engine governs out at. If not, that's where wind resistance overcomes the engine.
That said, where's the Sawzall? I could use a camper like that on me 123...just kidding
