W123 Upgrading Turbo
Is there anyway to get a more powerful turbo for my 84 300D TurboDiesel? It has good power, but if I wanted to get a bigger turbo would I have to change the whole engine set up? Just asking because later on when I get another TurboDiesel I would want to customize one of them, just for fun.

Do a search for this title:
"adjustable turbo boost controller for diesels?" Your turbo probably has enough power if you upgrade it.

And do a search on modifications in general. What your engine needs is more fuel before it needs more air than your turbo can provide.

There is a 300CD somewhere out there with a Garrett T3/T4 hybrid turbo (T04 I beleive) and propane injection. The owner races it. Haven't hear much about it though.

I adjusted the ALDA on my sold 300CD and attempted to adjust the turbo but found that I was at the end. I read that the spring for the wastegate gets warn. Is there a new spring I can buy? I need to test the boost on my 'new' 300CD.
Thanks, Craig

I simply disconnected my wastegate so it is stuck in the closed position. My 1983 300D makes 15PSI of boost and accelerates better than it ever has before. I dont recommend anybody performing this mod unless you are fully aware of the consequences.
