tranny auto downshift
ok traveling at interstate speeds and tranny shifts down to low gear scaring me to death. thought engine would drop. someone suggested the "kick down switch" under accelerator pedal was bad and to disconnect.. any ideas appreciated ...300sd

did you try disconnecting the kickdown switch?

Do a search, I remember this subject about a year ago, but don't remember the fix, although I recall it was serious. At least one person replaced the tranny.
