Electrical Zeitgiest

Well, I knew it was bound to happen someday. I went in to WalMart to buy some oil for my car and when I came out - I noticed massive electrical failure. Fuel gauge no longer worked, temperature gauge no longer worked, and my directionals were out. I think my brake lights are also out. I guess it is worthy to mention that the hazard lights work - so I guess it can't be the solid state flasher.

Anyone have any idea what could be wrong??? I guess my car doesn't want to turn 300k officiallly on the odo.

I have read some other posts that talk about circuit board delamination, so I guess I'll pull the cluster and have a look see.

Thanks,

Hey jeff,

I hate to sound to simple but did you volt meter the battery. Sometimes it may be a bad ground.

Thanks Bob for the advice. It wasn't a bad ground. I took BenzMac's advice and replaced all the fuses in my box today - especially #12 and everything worked perfectly!

This site is a life-saver!

Thanks,
