Bought mine in San Antonio and drove him back to Georgia. Love the manual shift, economy of operating and ease of repair. I'm getting an SD to have something to work on!

WOW I am very impressed with the owners cars very nice iam almost embarssed, cause mine looks nothing like those fine examples, mine is more of A driving car it's been around the block A few times, rough around the edges but it gets me where I want to go , just not classy but theres always room for improvment . 82, 240d, 325,000 manual everthing no frills, auto

83 240D 256K Miles, Dark Green exterior, tan interior. First and only owner. Unfortunately, car will not start at the moment and may need an engine rebuild.

I have a '74 200SD in storage. 200K+ miles and runs great but I don't use any more because I got spoiled by my turbo Diesels. It has some rust because it came from NY. Its orange (English red).

I want one! My first job took me to Atlanta and I worked for a fellow with a 75 or 76 240D...manual tranny, brown with tan interior. He used to let me house sit when out of town for the weekend and let me have the keys to the Benz. I thought I was big *****! When I found my 116 300SD, I bought it mainly because it was the same color combo and I loved that diesel sound. Now I'm going to have to add on....:p What is it about these cars?

How bout some pics from the guys with the 115s??

Here's a series of pics of my 240. Manual everything, no AC, basic, basic car. 256K miles on the thing. Enjoy!

Here's a shot of the front seats. All of the seat cushions are pretty much shot, but the MB-Tex is still hanging on strong. The seats are really immaculate front and rear. There are normally grey sheepskins on these front seats, and they will be going back on, but I wanted to have some pics without them. You can see the whole interior of the car is black. This makes it interesting on hot sunny days, especially without any AC, but... I love it anyway.

And now the rear. One thing I find interesting is that most people's nets on the backs of the seats are really saggy. Mine aren't, so I guess they've just never gotten used. I know that I've never put anything in them. Anyway...

Last shot. Here you can see the total lack of any sort of accessories. One thing I would really like though is to have wood trim all down the center console. Ah well, maybe some day.

Nice car. Don't see black tex very often. I do like that color. A guy down the road from me has a 240D just like yours that he picked up new in Germany in "77", been lusting after that car a long time
