Thought I was SEEING things...

Check out this 240D on ebay.Item description says 5cyl., right?
I'm thinkin' okay no 240D has a 5 cyl.Scroll down a few pictures and what do you see?Somebody finagled a 2.5 turbo diesel picture in the listing! With a 4 speed that would be awesome, except all the other pics show the 4cyl.Have a good laugh...

Note the apology:p
Still a nice car though

Strange 240D

C-5crewchief,

My 240D has a 5 cylinder G-wagen normally aspirated engine. I did it myself. Wanted the simplicity of the 240 but more power. If you like the idea, go to my new post on this forum about intercooling the 300DT. You'll love that!!!

One of the techs at work also made a "240D 3.0" using a non-turbo 617 motor. Same banana-yellow color as the one on Ebay. He also transferred over some of the 300D trim from the donor car.
Had it all buffed out, boy that old MB paint sure was tough, looks real nice. To top it all off, he found a set of stock CLK rims for sale on Ebay for $200. They fit perfectly except the front grease caps won't allow the wheel center caps to fit on, he's thinking on just getting some spacers for the front. I hope to post a few pictures soon.

I think you misunderstood. It's not really a 5cyl. turbo.Someone slipped a picture in there.Note the apology.Bet that car would fly with the 2.5 turbo though

Oh, no, I saw what you meant, and I saw the incorrect picture and so forth, just relating that a coworker actually made a 5 cyl 240D that must be quite similar to the one you made. I assume the non-turbo G wagen engine in yours is also an early 617 motor.
