IMHO if you have it apart you may as well rebuild it. The labor is the toughest part of the deal.

WRONG.....block does not have to be heated. Looks like Brandon was kicked off the forum.... perhaps for posting factually wrong information like this... directly contradicted by the Factory Shop Manual.

The Haynes manual is nice to have.... but is not complete enough by itself for many MB procedures...it sometimes mixes turbo and non turbo info without being clear it is doing so...... it often has better pictures than the FSM.... but leaves out MANY important warnings which are listed in the FSM...
