I've always been under the impression that "German Sliver" is a silver/nickel alloy that resists corrosion. Could be wrong, though!

Ah!
Thanks Peter, that makes sense as this MB choice appears to be an alloy that is a good conductor with corrosion resistance. Definately seemed to be more than tin plating.

Found this on a website
http://www.tclayton.demon.co.uk/metal.html#NiSi Nickel Silver Alloy A copper alloy containing 18-22% nickel, 15-20% zinc and sometimes manganese and other metals which is made with a wide variety of compositions. The alloy is sometimes known as German Silver or Argentan Also on http://www.ccsilver.com/reftable/glossary.html GERMAN SILVER is the same as nickel silver. It does not contain silver. NICKEL SILVER is a composition of nickel, copper and zinc. It does not contain silver.

You guys never cease to amaze me. Gota admit that "electrical and thermal conductivity" wouldn't be tops on my list of things too think about, BUT when its applied to radiators that I have in my cars, thats a whole different "kettle of fish". The combined pool of knowledge on this list is awesome.

Stevo
I believe you would be able to get an all metal radiator around here at Performance Radiator in either Everett or South Seattle. Their Everett # is 425 252 4323. I have used them a couple of times and they have come through with very high quality radiators for about $170-$180. Carry most stuff in stock. All of the body shops use them heavily. |
