Sound Shield for W123 Diesels
I'm thinking about taking more steps in reducing the cabin noise in my '84 300D. Futile, some of you may say, but I'm determined to have a quieter ride in this car.
To that end, have any of you had experience or bought products from www.psbproducts.com? They manufacture the Sound Shield exclusively for older Benz diesels, and I thought I would ask here before committing to any purchase. Thoughts? Here's a pic from the site, showing the shield in a 300SD...looks like something you'd put under your sleeping bag while camping...

I worry about putting the one on the actual engine... you see many people saying their cars run on the borderline of too hot... and I wonder what the engine blanket does to the airflow through the radiator...
More firewall/hood noise reduction would seem more prudent... that air has to go somewhere to be able to come through the radiator...... I would sure make sure that my temp guage was working correctly if I added this engine blanket deal... |

I thought about purchasing one a few years ago for my car, but I decided that it was not worth the money. I have instead decided to replace the hood pad with a similar acoustical material, which I will do when I get the time.
