W123 Bosch lights w/wash & wipe help...

Temporarily back on my own (hideously long-term) W123 wagon resto....after two years...it's (finally) painted.... Mounting the headlight wiper motors...positioning of the hole in the fender below the headlight assy. is easy, because it's dictated by the motor mounting holes in the core support...but I have no idea where the washer nozzles are "supposed" to be located. Has anyone got a pic (or a car) with this rather scarce option that could help me out?

Also...I still need the "correct" unbutchered wiring harness for this setup....it's separate, and loomed separately, and easy to get out...only one wire goes behind the dash...the rest are all under the hood. I'll pay the sum of $200 for a absolutely perfect on, with ALL the official plugs, coating, etc.

Thanks!

Thats very cool. I've never seen a 123 euro headlight wiper setup in person, but I do have a few photos, maybe they can help.

Thanks....maybe the nozzles are in the bumper...

I screwed around with your second image with photoshop, and I *think* I can see them in the top of the bumper, slightly inboard of where the wiper shafts extend through the fender. Anyone out there got sharper (ie: younger...) eyes than mine?

Thanks again...

Jim

In the first picture I can clearly see that the washer nozzles are about 2" inward from the wiper axle attached to the bumper.

the location ive seen the wipers on

at least on the later models with the late bosch euro lights ive seen teh wipers where i indicated in this picture. im not sure their exact placement, but the wiper comes out of that peice of the car. i really would like to install some in mine as well.. but.. it seems like a bear of a job and expensive as well.

id love to hear your progress and see the end result!

good luck
eric

Question

Here's a question I've always wondered about...I've never been in a Benz that had the headlight washer/wiper option. How is it controlled? Is it automatic somehow, or is there a switch somewhere, or what?

Also, were the wipers only an option on the Euro 123?

I found many pictures of coupes and sedans with the headlight wipers tonight while doing a search for the interior code for my car.

The headlamp washers only operate if:

1. The headlights are on
2. You press the wash/wipe button for your windsheild
