240D intake/exhaust manifold gasket

I need to know if I received the correct gasket for the intake/exhaust manifold. The one I got is made out of metal and does not have anything bisecting the 3 center holes (My shop manual shows that the 3 center holes should be divided into two each....for a total of six center holes) but mine only has 3 large center holes for a total of 2 small outer holes and 3 large center holes.

I have not taken the manifold off yet (It has a leak at the gasket), so I am not sure what the orginal is supposed to look like. Also, is the gasket supposed to be metal?

Please let me know if the gasket is supposed to have a hole for each exhaust/intake port or if three large center holes share 2 ports within the same gasket hole.

The part number for the gasket I got is:
615 142 05 80 and fastlane's number for the part is: H4009-37799.

Am I wrong to assume that this type of setup is incorrect and that the gasket that is shown in my shop manual is the correct style?

This is for a 1980 240D.

Depends on the manufacturer, I think -- some have the ports divided and some don't. The intake and exhaust ports are paired on this engine, so there is a set of two intakes, two exhausts, and two intakes in the center.

I'd not worry about it.

Mine was a metal gasket , gun metal grey was the color and it fit perfect. I was glad to get this done.
