Cold start..

32 degrees outside...leave car overnight...morning comes...idle adjustment knob all the way up, glow plug light goes out, crank it and hold....three "chuh chuch chuh" sound from the starter later engine fires up in a nice even idle. Normal?

No.......

It started much too easily.

Just kidding,,,,,sounds normal to me. Mine takes a little bit more cranking to fire up and sputters a tad, but then I have the original starter and glow plugs.

Yes, normal. You might wait 10 more seconds after light go out and see if it starts quicker.

You can usually hear the relay click off for the glow plugs. Sometimes it pays to open the hood once and get a good listen for it.

I let mine go about 5 seconds longer after the light goes out. Fires right up and misses a few times. The GP were all replaced earlier this year so I doubt I have any bad ones, it doesn't miss like it did last winter with half of my GP dead.

That sounds like a normal start up to me!

Below freezing I wait 40 seconds on the series glow plugs and that extra time makes a big difference. Usually starts on first compression stroke. If I don't wait it takes a few revolutions before enough cylinders catch for it to run w/o the starter.
