Question Rear Reflectors. Any good?

Here is a shot of a car, not mine, that has these reflectors installed.

Has anyone tried these? Are there any physical issues with them?

Now...on a more subjective note:
Any comments on the looks of these things?

I don't like it... it looks old.

These cars are old but their appearance is timeless. That's one thing. While these add-ons were probably fashionable but I think they are out of fashion.
Just my opinion!

Whatever looks good to you is good!

Those are ugly, I would never put those on my car. I have seen a few of those kits on eBay, but I don't see why anyone would want to buy one.

I saw a car on the road with those on it. I think it makes the car look funny.

Call me crazy, but I think they are an aquired taste. I mean, they are vintage, were popular with the gangsters in the 80's and commonly found on decrepid taxis in third world countries. I like them because they are unique, albeit a bit guady and guido.... But I say go for it.

Sorry, I vote no. I think it makes a nice car look cheap. I think they used to sell those right next to the curb feelers and plastic seat covers at Pep Boys.

Don't do it

I cringe whenever I see accessory add-on's on MB, especially the older ones. There is a certain classic look to these cars that I think should stay original.

It was with great angst that I put a cupholder in the center console of my 1977 300D. That is why I had one "custom made" with black plastic and zebrano wood inlay so it looks "original". Much to my wife's dismay, it cost around $60. I looks good, but I still feel a little guilty......until I remember wasting a cup of coffee all over the place.

I say, they are classic,,,,keep them that way.
